Windows XP Themes

Q

I like Windows XP, I just don’t particularly like the way it looks. I’ve found a couple of sites that offer themes for a price. I know most of them aren’t much, but I’m a poor college student. Please Help!

A

You can get free themes and desktop pictures from CrystalXP.net, deviantArt.com and belchfire.net. Between those sites, you should have a good selection of different skins.

If you have a favorite site, leave a comment!

Use flyakite OSx (google it) and help satisfy some of your mac lust.

My favorite XP skin is one that requires no additional software to apply. It’s called Royale Noir. You can download it here: http://tinyurl.com/yb9feu

It makes me wish Mac OS Leopard had a Noir theme ;(

(However, I won’t be switching back to Windows.. paralells is good enough for me)

Beyond skinning, some mac-like functionality can be had on XP by downloading ObjectDock (http://www.stardock.com/products/objectdock/downloads.asp#download)

I work with Macs at home, but my MS Partner employer forces PC’s on us at work. This Dock-style launcher at least keeps me away from the XP start menu.
