I normally watch the brief on my iPod, but i have, on occasion, used the pda. I use TCPMP (the re-branded beta player mentioned in the question). The H.264 codec isn't included with the player, but it used to be - if you search old download archives, you can find the codec. I also use an x50v. I use coreplayer 1.0(http://www.coreplayer.com/). It has the H.264 codec and has worked like a charm. Best $20 I ever spent.
