Video Screensaver on a Mac

Can I somehow get the iYule video to be my screen saver on the computer? And if so, how?

Save Hollywood is a free application that allows you to use any video that can be recognized by Quicktime as a screensaver. The most common files will be .mov, .mp4, and .m4v.
After you’ve downloaded Save Hollywood, drag the icon into Library/Screen Savers. Open your System Preferences, then choose Desktop & Screen Saver. In the left hand column, under “Other” choose “Save Hollywood”.

Then click on “Options”. You’ll get a separate window.

Load in the file or files you want to be played, decide whether you want them to play in order or randomly, adjust your volume and other settings, then choose “Close”. You’re all set!
If you have Flip4Mac, you will be able to add .wmv files. If you don’t have Flip4Mac, you can use MPEGStreamclip to convert the file to a Quicktime compatible file.

This application seems to come built in to Leopard. If you have Leopard just scroll down the list of screensavers and there it is.
Funny, it wasn’t there for me. You haven’t installed it previously?
Hi Cali,
I hadn’t previously installed and when I tried to install it I was told that it was already installed and asked if I wanted to replace the current version. It defaulted to the Leopard ‘theme’ with the stars and stuff.
I didn’t know that it was possible to use a movie as a screensaver until I read your post, so I know I hadn’t consciously installed it beforehand.
Have a shiny happy 2008!
Hi Cali,
I found an online fireplace and thought about you… lol.
Anyways, you can watch it here http://home5.inet.tele.dk/nyboe/flash/mediaplayer/fireplace.htm
The application’s not working for me. I dragged it to the screensavers folder like it says but the “other” option isn’t appearing in the screensaver menu. Any thoughts?
I had tried to do this for such a long time!!
Thanx for the tip!!
xoxo
