Video Screensaver in Vista

Q

How do I make a video my screensaver? I have Vista.

A

Right click on your desktop, and choose “Personalize”. From the window that opens, click “Screensaver”.

From the Screen Saver Settings window, choose “Photos” from the drop down menu, choose the amount of time you want the computer to be inactive before starting the screen saver, and click on “Settings”.

Browse to the folder where your .wmv or .avi video is. The screen saver will play all the videos in a folder and sub folder, so if you want only one video to play, make sure you create a folder specifically for your screen saver.

Click “Save” and you’ll see the video play in the preview.

For those of you on XP, Windows XP Screensaver is a free download for making your screensaver a video.

Vista’s Photo Screensaver will play videos… this is true - but it does not play the audio for the video and has no options to control a videos audio. I guess Microsoft does not think anyone would want sound with there videos…
