Using Apple TV on a Standard Def TV

Q

Do you have to have an HDTV in order to use Apple TV? This is a very important question because it affects the priority of items on my Christmas list. I don’t currently have an HDTV, but I do have a lot of podcasts and shows on iTunes that I would like to watch on my TV rather than my computer.

A

Is it already time to start putting together a Christmas wish-list? Yikes, I better get on it! :) You don’t have to have an HDTV to be able to use Apple TV. Apple TV has both HDMI and Component Audio and Video, so as long as your non-HDMI TV has a component connection, you can hook it up with that. Also, if you have HDMI connections on your TV, but they’re being used by another device, you can use the component connection.
