Q

Would you please explain to me how you post Twitter updates on your website inside that compact flash box? I need such a set up to help my students with late breaking developments in classes. BTW: Your Geek Brief episodes are assigned as homework to my students and they are tested on the content. I thoroughly enjoy your show. Truly shiny happy tech news. Keep up the awesome work. It’s an inspiration to my students, especially so for my female students.

A

Wow, thank you.

Here’s what Daniel is asking about:

You can easily add Twitter “Badges” to your Web site by going to Twitter.com/badges. Choose the Web service you want to add it to (MySpace, Facebook, etc.). If your choice isn’t listed, choose “Other” (this is what I do, since I use WordPress).

Here you get an option to add just your Twitter feed, a feed that includes you and your friends, or HTML/Javascript code that’s customizable. On my site, I chose to include just my Tweets.

Then you get to choose the color.

Copy the code and paste it in the appropriate spot on your site. If you’re using WordPress, most likely, you’ll want to insert it into the Sidebar code of your theme. If you’re not sure how to edit your code, take a look around the WordPress Forums, or jump on our forums at GBTVtalk.com.
