Q

I am getting married in July. YEAH! I am very excited. We have a lot of friends and family who will not be able to make it. As I am a geek, I thought I would stream the wedding over my website. What’s the best way to do this?

A

First of all, Congratulations!! :)

The easiest way to stream live video is Ustream.TV. You’ll sign up for a free account, then create a “Broadcast” with the date and time of the stream.

What’s really cool about this service is that you can add a chatbox along with the stream, so everyone that can’t be there can chat with each other while watching the wedding. It’ll give them a bit more of a sense of being involved.

You can either use your computer’s camera or connect an external camera (doesn’t support HD). If the stream doesn’t automatically load your camera, right click on the Broadcast box. Choose Settings.

You’ll get a box that looks like this:

Choose the appropriate camera from the drop down list and click Close.

That’s it, you’re ready to stream!

That sounds like a very awesome idea. I’m sure the family and friends that aren’t able to be there would be very touched for you to do this.

    And congratulations.!
