Scrapbooking Applications

I’ve just completed my course at college and I’m now officially qualified in megabytes and network cables. :) In the relatively short time, my class mates and I have become pretty close and we are all upset about our paths parting. Over the past year we have all collected LOTS of photos of our shananigans and I thought it would be great to sort them into a scrap book. Do you know any site or service where I can create a scrapbook online then have the company print it professionally?

My favorite scrapbooking application is called FotoFusion. I’m not a scrapbooker myself…I have a hard enough time remembering to USE the camera when I have one in my hand, but FotoFusion made me interested. It also made it fun. The basic version costs $39.95 and it provides several ways to share your scrapbook, including printing, but not as a book.
Shutterfly has several photo book options. I like the classic 8.5X11 version. Prices start at $29.99 and you can choose between a variety of high quality covers.
A free online alternative is Scrapblog. It looks like they will give you the ability to share your finished product by printing a book or burning a DVD at a later date.
If you really want to get creative, you could create your scrapbook images with FotoFusion, upload them to Shutterfly to print as a book.
Of course, if you’re on a Mac, you have all you need with iPhoto.

What about LuLu.com. Self Publishing that free and if you want you charge people for the book you make OR only make them pay for the cost to print. They have options for creating photobooks. They also have a means to download as a pdf for free.
How did you forget the obvious king of online photo scrapbooks!?
Flickr allows you to post all of those photos online, provide individually customized access to them, or make them all public, and right from within Flickr you can order all of the photos, or just the ones you like, as photo books, calendars, prints, etc.
Unfortunately, ordering prints is only available in the US. But still, Flickr, in my opinion, is the best and greatest option.
I think Tabblo at http://tabblo.com is a nice site and very creative. They were recently bought by HP so they have both a self printed option (use up that ink) or professional printing.
there’s also the easy apple solution — if they have a .mac account, it’s very easy to create photo pages in iLife and upload them there for all to see. they can even “photocast” albums, so as new pics from new events are added, they are automatically sycn’d and updated on their .mac web site.
@Angie - I didn’t know LuLu did photo albums too, thanks.
@Shaun: I actually wrote in a whole paragraph about Flickr, but I took it out before publishing, because Flickr isn’t “scrapbooking”. Yes, you can print the photos as a book, but it felt like I was taking the answer in a different direction.
Thanks for the comments, everyone! Keep ‘em coming. :)
I personally like http://www.mypublisher.com/. They have a free to download prog or a plugin for iPhoto. They have more options for coverings than apples own publisher and very quick delivery, even to UK. Ive made some great little books as presents and things from here
Thanks for the mention. We serve as a complement to photosharing sites since you can pull in your photos hosted elsewhere into your scrapblogs, as well as videos. We just launched in April and are working on providing options for printing and saving to DVD, which we hope to introduce soon. In the meantime, users may download their scrapblog pages to their computers for printing, or exporting to Flickr or Facebook, from where they may use a printing service. Please check our blog for updates on new features and themes!
Thanks again,
-Alex
