Change Your Podcast’s Album Art

Q

How do you get your podcasts to show a specific image in iTunes? My pictures always wind up with weird images, like my face distorted in a weird way and stuff. How do I change that default image?

A

iTunes will randomly pick an image for the album art. You can change it by doing this:

1) Drag your podcast into iTunes

2) If your show is audio, it will show up in Music. If it’s video, it will show up in Movies. Find the imported episode and right click on it and choose “Get Info”.

3) You’ll see several tabs at the top of the pop-up box. Click on Artwork.

4) Videos will have a random picture there. Click on that photo and choose “Delete”. Audio shows won’t have anything. Choose “Add” and browse to the picture you want to be your album art.

For all of our shows, we take a screenshot from the episode and create an image in Photoshop, and use that as our album art.

Just for the record - in my iTunes on PC - it’s called “Get Info” - not “Properties”. :-)

You’re absolutely right, thanks! I’ll change that.

for podcast creators, if it’s solely an audio podcast, and you’re using apple’s ilife garage band to create your podcast, you can drag relevant pictures to a particular section of the podcast and have it display as that section of the podcast plays (title graphic - photo #1 for 1s story - photo #2 for 2nd story - end graphic & credits, etc.).

check out garage band’s help section for more info on creating podcasts for this one.
