Best “Starter” Mac Option

Q

I’m a long time PC user, and am considering purchasing a Mac either new or used as a “starter” Mac system. Just to get familiar with it and see what it can do. Do you have any suggestions on a model thats good for Mac “noobs”? I don’t know much about Mac, so any help would be fantastic.

A

The iMac provides the best “first Mac” experience. All the components are encased inside the monitor and the whole setup defines elegance. You have a choice between 17-, 20-, or 24-inch displays. There’s an iSight built into the monitor to use with iChat, Skype or you can use it for taking goofy pictures with Photo Booth. The Mac Mini is the least expensive starter Mac option, but if you want the whole experience, go with an iMac.

I would have to agree with Cali. I am a lifelong pc user, and have always wanted a mac. I finally broke down and got an iMac. I love it! I was tempted to go with the Mac Mini, but I really liked the iMac once I saw it at the store.

And you should stop saying MAC because theres Apple Macs and MAC Address (Media Access Control Address) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MAC_address .

I went ahead and changed the question so that all the “MAC”s appear as Mac.
