Q

At what point do you think a show has grown enough to join PodShow and have PodShow connect the show with advertisers?

A

You can launch a show on PodShow anytime without talking to anyone. If you’re interested in working with them, I recommend doing that first. If you already have a show, PodShow has a tool called a Feed Vacuum that will quickly move past episodes over to the PodShow Network.

PodShow wants to work with people who want to work with them, so you should absolutely take the initial steps to put your show on PodShow.com. Check out this link for help with getting up and running.

I asked PodShow Joe what they’re looking for in a show. He said, “quality, commitment and consistency.”

I suggest taking an entrepreneurial approach to Web media production. The first thing that means, is to start by starting. Commit yourself to making a good show and building an audience whether or not you ever get a PodShow deal, or whether or not you ever make any money at it. I suggest having at least five or six shows before contacting PodShow. After you’ve gotten that ball rolling you’re ready to talk to PodShow about a relationship.

You can email jointheshow [at] podshow.com to let them know you want to work with them.

Thanks Cali for all your help. All the links that you sent me will definitely help me head in the right direction. I knew that I could make a podcast, but I had no idea that I could make a full time living at it. That is inspiring to say the least! LOL

    Have a great holiday!!

    Great info, Cali!

How many episodes did Geekbrief have before you contacted podshow about making a living from it?

    Thanks in advance!
