Adding a Feed to iTunes Directory

Okay, I’m trying to start an audio podcast, I’ve already subscribed to podshow, know how to add episodes, but how do I take those episodes and list them in iTunes?

You’ll first need to know your RSS feed URL. How you find that will depend on the service you used to create your podcast. I’ll give you a couple examples from popular services.
If you’re using PodShow Network, go to yourpodcastname.podshow.com, click on “Previous Episodes”, then right click on the orange RSS button and copy that link.
Now that you have your feed URL, you’ll need to Submit it to iTunes. Go to the iTunes Music store, click on “Podcasts” then you’ll see a white button about in the middle of the page that says “Submit Podcast”. Click on that. Then paste the URL you just copied. It will grab the information about your show (title, image, description, etc). Make sure this information is correct. Once you click Submit in iTunes, you’ll get an email saying that it’s being approved. It can take a couple days to approve, then you’ll get another email saying you’re approved and your show will be in the podcast directory within the next few hours. This email will also have a long link that looks like this:
http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=260081512
You can use this link to help people subscribe to your show easily by creating a button or a text link on your site.

This is excellent. Exactly what I needed. I published my media files and rss.xml document on my web space, but didn’t know how to get it in iTunes, other than to hit Advanced > Subscribe to Podcast and enter in my rss URL. But that didn’t add the podcast to iTunes’ directory. I’ve now submitted it as detailed above, so hopefully I’ll be in iTunes shortly for others to find. Thanks, Cali!
