Recording Lectures

I’m a college student and I’m wondering about a way to record lectures other than using tape.

I’ve been trying out the MicroMemofrom XtremeMac and I love it. It attaches to an iPod and turns the iPod into a recording studio capable of recording CD quality audio.
I’ve also used an Olympus Digital Audio Recorder, but I wasn’t as happy with sound quality.
Anytime you’re recording audio, no matter what you’re recording to, try to get the device as close to the speaker’s mouth as you can. Otherwise you’ll get a ton of ambient noise that will be distracting when you listen back.
